CPH:DOX 2023 at Kunsthal Charlottenborg
Kunsthal Charlottenborg turns as tradition into the headquarter of CPH:DOX, Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival 15 – 26 March 2023. During the festival, experience the first solo exhibition in Scandinavia Welcome to the Shitshow! with the award-winning British artist Jeremy Deller as well as a comprehensive program of film screenings, talks and an interactive exhibition.
When CPH:DOX celebrates its 20th anniversary in March 2023, the visiting guests will get an unique experience at Kunsthal Charlottenborg. During the 12 days of the festival, Kunsthal Charlottenborg will function as an international festival center with exhibitions, cinemas and industry activities. Everyone is welcome to visit CPH:DOX at Kunsthal Charlottenborg throughout the festival period from March 15 – 26 2023.
Jeremy Deller: Welcome to the Shitshow!
On the occasion of CPH:DOX, Kunsthal Charlottenborg presents the first solo exhibition in Scandinavia with the award-winning British artist Jeremy Deller. Through film, photography, graphic works and sculptural installations the exhibition will accentuate documentary aspects of Deller’s practice, which records extraordinary moments of our time and brings together a wide range of works created over the course of the last fifteen years.
The opening of the exhibition Welcome to the Shitshow! is Friday 17 March at 17-21 with free admission. Further info here.
Film program: Eight Hour Rock Show
Kunsthal Charlottenborg and CPH:DOX present a film program curated by Jeremy Deller on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition Welcome to the Shit Show!.
The film program Eight Hour Rock Show is a non-stop, all-day screening of music films at the Mezzanine cinema Friday 17 March 11.30-19.30 with free admission. Further info here.

Experience a performative talk as he explores the music films and subcultures that have inspired his personal and professional journey. INTER:ACTIVE
Visit the Inter:Active exhibition at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and experience 17 interactive art installations that explore the possibilities for immersive storytelling through the use of Virtual Reality, video games and artificial intelligence. In addition, you can experience three special live performances under the name Inter:Active Specials.
This year’s Inter:Active exhibition features artists using the 1s and 0s of computer code to explore the messiness of nature and humanity beyond binary definitions. It probes the intersection of gaming and art, presenting work made using the creative tools that define the current era: game engines and AI, which are also the building blocks of the emergent metaverse. CPH:DOX opening hours and entrance
Kunsthal Charlottenborg will be closed 6 – 15 March during the installation of CPH:DOX. The film festival will take place 15 – 26 March. The opening hours during the festival is Monday-Sunday 10.00 to late – the exhibition with Jeremy Deller closes every day at 20.00.
The exhibitions as well as most film screenings and events related to CPH:DOX will require the purchase of a ticket or the payment of an entrance fee.
