Treasure Hunt in Aleksandra Domanović’s Canopy Collapse
For ages 5–100
Embark on a treasure hunt through the exhibition, finding details from selected works. Explore, follow the clues, answer the questions – alone or with friends and family. Everyone who joins the hunt receives a small prize.

Workshop: Past, Present, and Future in Blue
Age group: 5–100
In Larissa Sansour’s often black-and-white video works, the color blue occasionally appears as a powerful contrast – a symbol of change and grief. In this workshop, we dive into shades of blue and create art rooted in our own personal stories. Inspired by Sansour’s works, which explore themes such as identity, memory, family history, and visions of the future, we examine the many meanings of the color blue. Indigo blue is a particularly durable pigment and – like grief – can withstand the passage of time without fading. Paint a self-portrait, your hopes, or a memory, and help create a large collaborative artwork that unites past, present, and future.

Workshop: Create Your Own Turbo Sculpture
Age group: 8–100
Unleash your imagination in this creative workshop inspired by Aleksandra Domanović’s works, where classical art history merges with modern materials. In her video work Turbo Sculpture (2009/2024), Domanović reflects on contemporary sculptures erected in former Yugoslavia, many of which celebrate Hollywood figures or Western icons such as Bruce Lee, Bob Marley, Bill Clinton, and Johnny Depp. These sculptures are called “turbo sculptures” because they combine two seemingly opposing concepts – the national tradition of public monuments and global Western pop culture. Just as Domanović questions who we choose to honor in public spaces, you are invited to create your own tribute to someone you believe deserves to be celebrated – by crafting a mixed-media sculpture made of cardboard, paint, and clippings from both pop culture and art history.

Tour: The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts at Charlottenborg Palace
Join a fascinating journey through art and history with author, PhD, and museum inspector Jens Tang Kristensen, as we open the doors to the historic Charlottenborg Palace, built in 1683. In 1753, the Art Academy moved into the building, and since then, it has been home to the education of some of Denmark’s greatest artists – and today, all the historic rooms still buzz with creative energy.
[Tours are conducted in Danish at 19:00 and 21:00. Registration is required at the reception desk. 25 spots are available per tour.]

Culture Night at Kunsthal Charlottenborg is created in collaboration with creative consultant and educator Simone Syska Andersen.
