In this, his most comprehensive solo exhibition to date, the internationally acclaimed Danish artist FOS creates a total installation comprising both his earlier and entirely new works.
Geological sediments, singing keys and giant billboards appear side by side and tell us about our shared history, memory and amnesia.

FOS (1971) has the unique ability to make the complicated understandable while playing and challenging himself, the audience and the art world as such.  FOS’ total installations, which he refers to as Social Design, embrace poetry and humour and at the same time assume a critical tone, but the installations only really achieve maximum impact by virtue of the audience and activities they house.

An example of such an installation is Osloo, produced for the Danish pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2011 – a boat (with a bar, a stage and its own radio station), which provides the setting for an intensive programme of performances, readings, concerts and lectures.

I den hidtil mest omfattende soloudstilling med den internationalt anerkendte danske kunstner FOS, skabes en totalinstallation med såvel tidligere som helt nyproducerede værker. Her optræder geologiske sedimenter, syngende nøgler og kæmpemæssige billboards side om side, og fortæller om vores fælles historie, hukommelse og hukommelsestab.

FOS (1971) har en særlig evne til at gøre det komplekse forståeligt, mens han leger og udfordrer sig selv, publikum og kunstverdenen som sådan. FOS’ totalinstallationer, som han selv kalder Social Design, favner poesi og humor og slår samtidig kritiske toner an, men installationerne bliver først rigtigt totale i kraft af det publikum og de aktiviteter, de huser.

Et eksempel på sådanne installationer er Osloo, som han skabte til Venedig Biennalen i 2011 – en båd (med bar, scene og egen radiostation), der dannede ramme om et intensivt program af performances, oplæsninger, koncerter og forelæsninger. Værket var FOS’ bidrag til den danske pavillon på biennalen.
