Hidden Stories in Textile

Charlottenborg Praksis

Join a workshop for children and adults at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, where we gather in a shared space for creation and immersion. Taking Małgorzata Mirga-Tas’ works as our starting point, we mark the exhibition’s final days by working with images, materials, and stories.

Drawing on Małgorzata Mirga-Tas’ textile works, we’ll work with fabric, patterns, and reused materials. Here you can experiment with cutting, sewing, composing, and embroidering, and along the way create your own piece based on stories from your own or your family’s life, perhaps starting from a family photo.

You can also follow Mirga-Tas’ example and illustrate a previously overlooked story on behalf of someone you believe deserves special attention, create a tribute portrait of a special person inspired by the Herstories series, or make your own interpretation of an existing artwork.

The workshop is an open studio where you can work at your own pace, with room for both immersion and relaxed togetherness across ages.

Recycled textiles are donated by Blå Kors. The workshop is organized by Simone Syska in collaboration with Kunsthal Charlottenborg.

About Charlottenborg Praksis:
Charlottenborg Praksis is Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s participatory format rooted in current exhibitions. Here you’re invited to step into a shared space for artistic practice, where the exhibitions’ ideas, materials, and processes can be explored by hand. There’s room for immersion, reflection, and creative expression, and for new ways of experiencing art.
