MFA Degree Show 2013
Kunsthal Charlottenborg and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts’ Schools of Visual Arts take great pleasure in presenting the MFA Degree Show 2013, which distinguishes itself by being the first exhibition to be created in co-operation between the merged institutions.
A degree show can be seen as a presentation of the latest talents within the world of visual arts, but should equally be regarded as a look back at the educational and developmental process that has preceded the exhibition.
This year there are 36 graduating students, presenting works that cross the boundaries of the visual media and artistic genres: from video, painting and performance to novels and opera. At the exhibition, an increased focus on the more silent processes of cognition can be detected: on biology, systems, on ritual, craftsmanship and materials.
The students graduating in 2013 are: Nanna Abell, Kristian Byskov, Carsten Crone Caroc, Julie Damkjær, Malte Fisker, Ester Fleckner, Signe Frederiksen, Katrine Würtz Hansen, Kasper Hesselbjerg, Sisse Holmberg, Sofie Holten, Casper Koch Hughes, Thomas Hyttel, Janus Høm, Kristina S. Jakobsen, Søren Aagaard Jensen, Signe Kjølner, Misja Thirslund Krenchel & Thomas Elsted (guest), Brian Kure, Peter Larsen, Mette Nisgaard Larsen, Johanne Skovbo Lasgaard, Mads Lindberg, Birgitte Martinsen, Cecilie Beck Kronborg Morris, Signe Schmidt Petersen, Andreas Rasmussen, David Hilmer Rex, Camilla Reyman, Louise Rosendal, Farid Salti, Ida Marie Settergren, Vladas Suncovas, Anders Hvam Waagø, Joanne Pang Rui Yun and Kirstine Aarkrog.
The exhibition is accompanied by a guide presenting the artists, works and performances, and a catalogue in the form of a collection of texts.
