Photography
You are allowed to take photos without flash, but for non-commercial use only. For professional photos with flash you need permission from the administration at Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Permission is granted for the press by showing press id. We take no responsibility for copyright law permissions between artist and photographer. All pictures on our website are © Kunsthal Charlottenborg.

Guided tours

At Kunsthal Charlotteborg we are pleased to arrange guided tours for groups, companies, classes and others of interest during our normal opening hours.

Price exclusive admission

Kunsthal Charlottenborg is close to both several bus lines and a metro station making it easy to reach us via public transportation. You can use one of the following transport options:

Metro (M1, M2, M3, M4, Kongens Nytorv)
Bus (23, 26, Kongens Nytorv)
Harbour bus (991, 992, Nyhavn)

Access
You can arrive at Kunsthal Charlottenborg via Kongens Nytorv or Nyhavn. The entrance from Kongens Nytorv leads through a cobblestone courtyard with three rows of flat stones forming an even pathway, making it easier for wheelchair users and providing some tactile guidance.

Accessible Parking
Please contact us at driften@kunstakademiet.dk so we can arrange a suitable parking solution for your visit.

Companions and Service Dogs
Companions are admitted free of charge for wheelchair users or upon presentation of a valid companion card. Certified service dogs are welcome.

Audio Description
We offer audio description for at least one of our current exhibitions. Download the app here. Gallery hosts can also assist you upon arrival.

Elevator
Kunsthal Charlottenborg spans three floors, all accessible by elevator and stairs. The elevator entrance is 89 cm wide and 148 cm deep. The elevator is approved for 950 kg / 6 persons.

Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair access is available via the main entrance. The doorway can be up to 200 cm wide, and the outer door opens automatically.
Kunsthal Charlottenborg is accessible by both electric and manual wheelchairs.
Manual wheelchairs can be borrowed at the ticket desk.

Families with Young Children
You are welcome to bring your own pram or stroller throughout Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
A changing table is available in our accessible restroom.
You are welcome to breastfeed or bottle-feed during your visit.

Cloakroom and Bags
A cloakroom is located in the foyer next to the shop. Lockers are available and can be secured with a code.
You may bring bags with you, but please help us protect the artworks by leaving larger bags and coats in the cloakroom.

Seating and Folding Chairs
Benches are available throughout Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Folding chairs can be found in the upper foyer and may be used in the exhibitions.

Cinema

On our mezzanine on the 1st floor, you’ll find the cinema. Here, we continuously screen films related to the current exhibitions.

Film screenings in the cinema are free once admission has been paid.

Bookshop

In the foyer, you will find Charlottenborg Art Books – a bookstore where you can find posters and publications about art, architecture, design and philosophy. Here you can also find literature selected by our current artists and curators.

Apollo Bar

Apollo Bar is Frederik Bille Brahe’s restaurant that offers a selection of seasonal dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients, making it a great place to relax before or after your visit to Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
