Tori Wrånes: Ældgammel Baby
Kunsthal Charlottenborg look forward to presenting the first solo exhibition in Denmark Norwegian artist Tori Wrånes (b. 1978). Tori Wrånes is especially known for her sculptural installations and striking performances.
Her own body takes centre stage as she uses her voice as a powerful instrument and puts on strange masks and costumes that distort her appearance. Combined with props and fellow performers, the total effect is eerie, wonderful and dreamlike.
Tori Wrånes has a number of many performances behind her, most recently as part of Do Disturb! at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and she is current with the solo exhibition Hot Pocket at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Oslo.
The exhibition is curated by Henriette Bretton-Meyer and has been realized with the support of the Danish Arts Foundation, the Obel Family Foundation, Nasjonalmuseet – the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Norwegian Embassy in Copenhagen and Office for Contemporary Art Norway.
