Guided Tour: Amalie Smith, Levende
On the occasion of CHART Book & Print Fair, Kunsthal Charlottenborg invites you to a guided tour of Amalie Smith’s exhibition Levende.
In Levende (Living) you encounter Amalie Smith’s most comprehensive solo exhibition to date, created specifically for the north wing of Kunsthal Charlottenborg. The exhibition consists of newly produced sculptural installations and a continuous sound piece that revolve around the origin of life and the traces that the living leaves behind. You move through dim, minimal rooms in a spiral, like the whorls of a snail shell, and encounter large display cases with hybrid sculptures made of textile, ceramics, natural materials and everyday objects. As if under a microscope, Amalie Smith zooms in on the connections between nature, science, art and artificial life, across past, present and future.
The tour lasts one hour, during which one of the art centre’s art hosts will unfold Amalie Smith’s works and universe.
