Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 2024

2 feb – 3 mar 2024

Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition is among the most important open, censored exhibitions in Europe and has been an annual recurring show at Kunsthal Charlottenborg since 1857. A jury selects works by Danish, as well as international artists across the artistic genres visual art, architecture, crafts and design for the comprehensive exhibition.

Over the years, the Spring Exhibition has constituted the first, significant step for many young artists embarking on their artistic careers, while also often presenting new works by more established names. In recent times, the Spring Exhibition has counted both Klara Lilja, Sif Itona Westerberg and Frederik Næblerød among its debutants, and over time has presented artists who are today internationally recognized, including Anne Haaning, Per Kirkeby, Olafur Eliasson, Jasmina Cibic and many more.

The selected artists are also in the competition for the Solo Award and a solo exhibition in Politiken’s Forhal, as well as for the Deep Forest Art Land Award, which includes a rescidency with the opportunity to show a new, site-specific work for a year. In 2024, the winners from last year’s exhibition, Zoumer (Yasmina Derradj) and Lida Jonsson, Ssi Saarinen, Ona Julija Lukas Steponaitytė, will also exhibit their new works in collaboration with Politiken’s Forhal and Deep Forest Art Land.
